Personal Control: Boosting Productivity, Energy Savings

Below are several solutions from members of the Lighting Controls Association, which enable organizations to capture the benefits of personal lighting control.

Advance's Mark 10 Ballasts

Advance Transformer recently expanded its Mark 10 Powerline electronic dimming ballast line to include newly-designed models for 1- and 2-lamp long twin tube fluorescent lamp applications. Ideal for such applications as sconces and 2 X 2 recessed fluorescent fixtures, Advance’s new Mark 10 Powerline ballasts for 1- and 2-lamp long twin tube lamps are available in small can versions to enhance their versatility and design flexibility. The new ballasts feature dedicated voltage of 120/277V, 60Hz, and can now control both 36W and 39W long twin tube lamps in addition to their previous 40W-lamp-only option.

Ideally-suited for meeting rooms and audio/visual presentation spaces, computer-intensive work areas, and private offices, Advance’s new Mark 10 Powerline ballasts for 1 and 2-lamp long twin tube lamps deliver full-range (100%-5%) continuous dimming capability, allowing users to adjust lighting levels to fit their needs and enhance their visual comfort. Since Advance Mark 10 Powerline dimming ballasts take their dimming signals directly from the power line, no additional control wiring is required, making installation a simple and cost-effective process. In addition, the new ballasts can operate with a wide variety of controls from over 20 control manufacturers, including wall box dimmers, architectural dimmers, occupancy sensors, and others.

Like other Mark 10 Powerline models, Advance’s new electronic dimming ballasts for 1 and 2-lamp long twin tubes include operation above 40 kHz to minimize risk of interference problems as well as less than 10% THD and carry a 5-year warranty. The ballasts are encased in compact housings (9.50”L X 1.70”W X 1.18”H), making them ideal for use in applications where space may be at a premium. Additionally, all of the models fully support sustainable (“green”) design as measured by LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System performance standards and are compatible with controls offered by numerous manufacturers. Catalog numbers for the new ballasts include REZ-1TTS40-SC (1-lamp, 120V), VEZ-1TTS40-SC (1-lamp, 277V), REZ-2TTS40-SC (2-lamp, 120V), and VEZ-2TTS40-SC (2-lamp, 277V).
