Leviton Promotes Weigand to National Sales Manager for Energy Management Products

Leviton is pleased to announce the promotion of David Weigand to the position of National Sales Manager for Commercial Energy Management Products. In his new post, Weigand will focus on expanding the market for the company’s line of occupancy sensors, whole-building energy management controls, daylight harvesting systems and other lighting management systems.

Weigand brings to his new position a strong background in energy management coupled with extensive experience in the lighting industry. In a career spanning over 25 years, he has worked in the lighting consulting, contracting and commercial construction industries, in addition to the pubic utility sector, where he established energy incentive programs for Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, Washington Water Power and the Bonneville Power Administration.

Before joining Leviton, he worked as manager of lighting and electrical standards for the Starbucks Coffee chain, where he developed standards for energy efficiency and created lighted environments that enhanced customer satisfaction. He also held positions as a specification/contractor sales representative for Harry L. Stearns, Inc., Senior Engineer for A&C Enercom, Inc. and Electrical Designer for Interface Engineering Company.

Active with state and national standards organizations, Weigand has drafted energy codes and has served as a review consultant for California’s Title 24 development and the ASHRAE/IES90.1 standard. His published articles on energy management have appeared in magazines such as LD+A and the Journal of Commerce. He has also served as a panelist and speaker at LightFair, as well as other trade shows and industry conferences, and has led classes on architectural lighting design and energy management at Portland State University, Oregon State University and the University of Oregon. Weigand holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Portland State University.

Leviton’s comprehensive line of lighting management systems offers state-of-the-art energy management solutions for commercial, theatrical and architectural lighting applications.
