Lutron’s Flagship Lighting Control System Inducted into the
CEDIA Product Hall of Fame

Lutron Electronics has announced that its HomeWorks® whole-home lighting control system was one of only eight products inducted into the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Product Hall of Fame.

The appointment was announced during the 2008 CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Awards banquet on Saturday, Sept. 6, in Denver, CO.

According to CEDIA, the Product Hall of Fame was developed to show the origins of the residential electronics industry and track the progression of product development and technology. The Product Hall of Fame Showcase will be introduced at the 2009 CEDIA Expo in Atlanta, GA. Inducted products will be on display at all future Expos.

The CEDIA community was first introduced to the HomeWorks system in the early 1990s, when Lutron created the category of whole-home lighting control systems. It’s been widely accepted by residential system installers as the most reliable, robust lighting control system on the market.

“We are honored to have received this designation,” said Andy Wakefield, Director of Lutron’s Home Systems Business Unit. “It’s a remarkable accomplishment to be recognized as a foundation of this industry. We’re especially thankful to our loyal dealers, some of whom have been with us since day one. Their feedback and commitment to Lutron have made HomeWorks the product it is today.”

Since the early 1990s, Lutron has dramatically expanded the capabilities of HomeWorks by continually launching innovative, new products, including a totally wireless version of the system that is known for its reliability; a line of backlit, seeTouch® keypads; energy-saving green features and more.

To further expand the lighting control category for its dealers, Lutron introduced an automated shade and drapery system that can be controlled via HomeWorks keypads, allowing homeowners to control every point of natural and artificial light in their home with the press of a button.
