Lutron's Latest Light and Shade Control Product with Wireless Capability: GRAFIK Eye® QS Wireless

Full customization, seamless integration and energy efficiency

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. continues to grow its roster of wireless products with the addition of GRAFIK Eye QS Wireless. The system provides seamless integration of Lutron light and shade products for complete light control in a space.

Lutron’s GRAFIK Eye QS, introduced to the market in June 2007, is a fully customizable preset light and shade control system, providing convenient control, energy savings, and enhancement of the visual environment.

GRAFIK Eye QS Wireless provides all of the same advanced features as before, along with new wireless connections to Sivoia® QS Wireless shades, wireless occupancy sensors, and additional GRAFIK Eye QS Wireless units. The wireless interconnects allow for reduced installation time and cost by eliminating the need to run or pull wire from the GRAFIK Eye QS to several components.

GRAFIK Eye QS Wireless also can be equipped with an integral bus supply providing direct control of Lutron’s revolutionary EcoSystem™ digitally addressable ballasts, or Hi-lume™ 3D ballasts. Another optional component is the Hi-lume LED driver.

The integration of GRAFIK Eye QS Wireless and EcoSystem enhances the high-performance energy-saving strategies of each. The product's following features address ASHRAE, IECC and Title 24 energy codes:

* Energy savings indicator;
* Built-in astronomical and programmable time clock;
* Direct connection to occupancy sensor for manual on/automatic off;
* Daylight harvesting of both incandescent and fluorescent lights;
* Ability to dim lights to preset levels.

“These components, along with other advanced features, comprise one easy-to-use system that can simultaneously control fluorescent, LED, and incandescent lighting as well as shades and wireless components,” says Jesus Guerrero, product manager for Lutron. “The system delivers better lighting control, scalability, and improved energy efficiency. GRAFIK Eye QS Wireless is appropriate for a single room to an open office, and new construction or retrofit.”

The new wireless capability makes it easier for customers to adapt lighting to changing space requirements in any building, including offices and schools. In addition, GRAFIK Eye QS Wireless is scalable–adding multiple components and configurations makes it easy to expand the system’s capabilities for a variety of applications. It also links with Lutron’s Quantum™ total light management system for control of an entire building or part of a building.

The improved lighting environment from these features also increases employee and student comfort. As a result, according to numerous studies, worker productivity and student performance are likely to improve.
