SensorSwitch Named to Tech Top 40

Sensor Switch, Inc., an industry leader in the development of lighting control products, has been chosen as one of Connecticut’s 40 fastest growing technology companies by the Connecticut Technology Council (CTC). Sensor Switch was inducted into the inaugural UHY LLP Tech Top 40 program in November; a program which celebrates the 40 fastest growing Software, IT, New Media, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy/Telecom/Green Tech, and Life Sciences companies in Connecticut. Selection for the award was based on the percentage of revenue growth of each company in the last four years, from 2004-2007. Sensor Switch, chosen as a winner in the Energy/ Environmental category, was presented with the Award at the Top 40 Gala on November 6th, 2008 at the Chevrolet Theater in Wallingford.

To qualify for the Tech Top 40 program, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2004 and $3,000,000 in 2007, be headquartered in Connecticut and own proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues, or devote a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.

Sensor Switch achieved an increase in revenue of 72.57% from 2004 to 2007, which resulted in their inclusion in the Energy/Environmental Technology category of this year’s Tech Top 40. Brian Platner, President & CEO of Sensor Switch, credits a culture of innovation and imaginative engineering with the company’s outstanding revenue growth from 2004-2007. Platner said, “We are always looking for ways to increase energy efficiency, and we do so by designing pioneering lighting controls. Our newest control system, nLight, is the first lighting system to cost-effectively integrate time-based, occupancy-based, daylight-based, and manual control methods. It delivers increased energy savings with lower equipment and installation costs. This system is just another example of our creative engineers at work.”

Since its founding in 1987, Sensor Switch has been the industry leader in lighting control innovations, focusing on engineering advanced products and technology that cost effectively delivers energy efficiency, as well as convenience. Our experience and wide breadth of occupancy sensors, daylighting controls, and our new nLight control system ensure we can provide reliable solutions for any application or building type. All Sensor Switch products are proudly engineered and manufactured in the USA at the company headquarters in Wallingford, Connecticut.
