Schneider Electric Helps Habitat for Humanity Build Home in Harrisburg

Square D/Schneider Electric has joined Harrisburg Habitat for Humanity to sponsor and help build a home in Harrisburg, PA. The five-bedroom, two-bathroom home will be built for a local family by Schneider Electric employees, along with their families and friends.

Square D, the flagship brand of Schneider Electric in the United States for electrical distribution and industrial control products, systems, and services, is also providing a Square D brand load center, circuit breakers, and other related electrical equipment to every Habitat home nationwide in a partnership worth $7 million.

Dave Petratis, president and chief executive officer of the Schneider Electric North American Operating Division, said, "We are committed to making a difference in our communities. We have a responsibility to give back and, by working with Habitat for Humanity, we can make a lasting impact on families in Harrisburg and around the United States."

“We are grateful to Square D and Schneider Electric for their donation, which will help families locally and across the country have a simple, decent place to call home,” said Chris Guss, director of development, Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Harrisburg Area.

As a national partner and a Cornerstone Society member of Habitat’s “More Than Houses” campaign, Square D/Schneider Electric has already contributed approximately $6 million in residential electrical equipment for use in homes built in the United States, Canada, and Mexico since 2001. In addition, the company donated labor, supplies, and more than $1 million to eight separate initiatives in the Gulf Region last year, helping to rebuild such cherished community locations as athletic facilities, museums, and a medical clinic damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
